On Monday 22nd of November the Huonville Lions Football Club held its Annual General Meeting, where the out going committee presented its 2004 Annual Report.

Club President Scott Wilcox presented his report, which gave a brief overview of the clubs performance for the 2004 season, he also thanked all coaches, support staff and the many tireless volunteers that perform the various tasks that kept the club running week in week out. Scott then thanked the clubs sponsors and all involved with fundraising for season 2004, and announced that STEPS Employment & Training Solutions has substantially increased its commitment to the Huonville Lions Football Club and will be naming right sponsors for the next three seasons.

Treasurer Wayne Thorpe then presented the clubs Financial Report, after thanking those that sponsored and supported with fundraising throughout season 2004, Wayne announced the Huonville Lions Football Club had registered a healthy operating profit for the 2004 season. General Manager Cameron Smith then presented the clubs Marketing / Sponsorship and Membership Report. In season 2004 the Huonville Lions Football Club reported a healthy rise in both sponsorship and membership levels, but both Cameron and Wayne pointed out for the club to continue to grow and achieve the goals set down in the clubs strategic plan, the growth in both sponsorship and membership must continue. Cameron then gave a brief over view of the Facilities Development Report, the Ground and Maintenance Report and the progress of the clubs Strategic Plan and that the club had achieved and / or implemented all the key performance indicators set down within the strategic plan for 2004.

This was followed by the election of 2005 office bearers. As part of the clubs strategic plan the HLFC has made changes in the way the club is to be administered, changing from the traditional club committee to a club board, with club directors responsible for particular portfolios. All Board members are wishing to form small sub- committees and would welcome your support. If you feel you are able to help in any of the above areas, please contact the Director responsible for the portfolio or Cameron Smith – 0409 664482 / email huonvillefc.gm@bigpond.com .

The Huonville Lions Football Club is calling on the community and businesses to support the project by inviting you to attend an Advertising Auction Evening on Wednesday, December 15th, at Home Hill Winery.

The Calendar will not only benefit the club but all local businesses as well, as it will feature club events, local event dates, photos of tourist attractions and information on what to do and see in Huonville during the different times of the year. The calendar will be available for release in early January 2005. The auction evening is an open invitation with door entry at $10 per person.
